Meredyth Grant

Today marks an exceptional day for us here at TechVets, and it’s all thanks to the generosity of the Veterans’ Foundation.

We are deeply honoured to announce that we have received a grant of £30,000 from the Veterans’ Foundation which will supports veterans, Service leavers and their families to retrain, up-skill and embark on #tech and #cybersecurity careers in the civilian world.

This support goes far beyond the monetary aspect; it represents faith in our mission and a shared commitment to assisting veterans and their families who are in need.

The Veterans’ Foundation, led by Major General David Shaw, is dedicated to financially aiding charities and other benevolent entities that assist serving and former members of the Armed Forces and their dependents. Their remarkable efforts, fueled by the Veterans’ Lottery and public donations, have yielded over £11 million since its inception in July 2016, contributing to more than 600 grants to over 300 unique organisations.

At TechVets, we have huge admiration for the Veterans’ Foundation and their incredible work, especially in tackling the challenges of mental and physical injuries, homelessness, unemployment, children’s loss of parents while serving, and remembrance. Their forecasted grants, totalling £4.4 million this financial year, will continue to make a significant difference in the lives of those who have served our nation.

James Murphy, TechVets programme Director;

“This generous grant will enable TechVets to further extend our reach, impact, and support, and help a larger section of the veterans’ and forces community transition seamlessly into the tech industry. Helping veterans, Service leavers and forces families transition into the tech sector, providing digital skills training, creating a supportive community, and opening up opportunities for our members to leverage their unique skill sets in the digital economy is the beating heart of TechVets, everyone is redeployable!

With the support of the Veterans’ Foundation we can continue to work towards the same goal; to ensure that every veteran has access to the opportunities that they deserve.”

We are proud to have the support of the Veterans’ Foundation as we strive to make a positive impact on the lives of our brave Service personnel and forces families.

Thank you, Veterans’ Foundation, for believing in TechVets and standing by us in our mission. Together, we are making a difference.
