TechVets are delighted to announce a strategic partnership with Amicis Group.

As well as having strong military connections within the company, Amicis are keen to support ex-forces personnel as they transition from military to civilian life.

Our very own Technical Director, David Tyler served in the Navy as an Operator Mechanic Electronic Warfare Specialist. His time serving was cut short when he was medically discharged, but qualifications in IT lead him to complete a computing degree and eventually to a career in cyber. David said, “I found the transition between military and civilian life extremely challenging. After joining at a young age, I went from having everything provided for me and being told where to be and what to do every day, to nothing in just a few weeks. Although I did eventually find my way into the cybersecurity industry, I would have found the support and guidance that TechVets give to ex-servicemen and women invaluable. Amicis’ partnership can only give more fantastic opportunities to those who have given so much.”

Amicis are keen to support ex-forces personnel as they transition from military to civilian life.

The partnership sees Amicis’ immersive training programs being opened up to the many veterans looking for a change of career on Civvy Street.

Founded in March 2018, and now a programme within RFEA – The Forces Employment Charity, TechVets was established by their four co-founders who spotted the opportunity developing from the increasing use of tech, greater demand for better cybersecurity and a fast-growing skills gap. Coupled with the national issue of unemployment and underemployment of military veterans, the non-profit was formed. Since then, they have helped countless veterans to have a smooth transition into technology and cyber security careers.

James Murphy, Director at TechVets has said, “I am very excited about our newest partnership with Amicis Group. A great many come to TechVets as the leading support for veterans into cyber and tech careers in the UK but we work best when collaborating with other great organistions to maximise the support we offer, ensuring that our members receive the in demand skills that will afford them better opportunities after their Military service. It is always amazing when I can work with organisations who have similar principles and with a strong commitment to helping more people benefit from a great career in cyber security and technology.”
