Carnival UK Launch Veterans Internship

Carnival UK Launch Veterans Internship

Meredyth Grant

We’re delighted to announce that our partners Carnival UK have launched a new veterans internship programme.

The aim of the Veterans Internship is to provide suitable Veterans an opportunity to develop their IT knowledge within a commercial environment and for those who have recently left HM Forces the opportunity to work in a civilian environment. At the same time CUK will benefit from access to expert knowledge developed via recognised training completed by the candidate as well as significant expertise in soft skills such as leadership, mentoring, project management, and problem solving.

Opportunities exist to conduct internships in the following areas within Carnival UK IT:

  • IT Security.
  • Architecture.
  • Cloud Storage.

Internships will last a maximum of 12 months based on the following:

  • The area in which the Internship takes place,
  • The needs and availability of CUK employees, and
  • The availability of the Veteran

The role will be located in Carnival House, Southampton though there may be some limited opportunities for working remotely however it should be noted that this will limit the benefit of the Internship.

The Intern will be allocated a Mentor from the CUK Military, Veterans, and Partners (MVP) Network who will act as the ‘Go To’ person for all questions, queries that are non-work related. The Mentor also acts as a friendly face with the aim of supporting the Veteran in developing their network.
